Absolutely. For our client's protection and peace of mind, our care givers are bonded and insured. We carry general and professional liability insurance coverage.
How do you select and screen your care givers?
Our care givers' backgrounds are carefully scrutinized. We thoroughly check their employment and personal references, and conduct a criminal background search. Potential care givers are interviewed by our professional Care Coordinating staff, followed by a second orientation session and interview. Throughout this process, all the information we acquire is used to make the best possible match between the client and care giver.
Must I commit to a minimum term of care?
Due to the nature of the services we provide to our clients, we offer flexible agreement terms that only require a 48 hour notice for any changes or cancellations of service. There is no long term commitment or contract required. We have a Three-hour service minimum, which can be scheduled one time a day, week, or month. There is no commitment to a minimum term or duration of care. You may cancel at any time.i>
Do I need to sign a contract?
If after our initial assessment you decide to retain our services, we will clearly outline what you have selected in a Service Agreement. This agreement insures that everyone involved has a clear understanding of the care we will be providing.
Can I meet my care giver in advance?
Yes, you may meet your care giver(s) in advance and decide who meets your unique needs.
How quickly can I get services?
The more notice we have, the more time it allows us to find a good match for your loved one. In the event of an emergency, we can find you a qualified care giver within hours.
Do you schedule the same care giver for each visit?
YES, we like to build relationships and continuity of care is very important aspect of our business.
What if my care giver is sick?
We at CareGivers Connecticut, LLC take our commitment to caring for your loved one seriously. If your care giver is sick and you desire a substitute care giver, we will provide one. We often pay travel expenses to our care givers to respond to emergency fill-in situations at no extra cost to you in such situations.
What are your office hours? I need to know my home health care provider is going to be accessible?
The office hours are 9 am - 5 pm EST. For your convenience, CareGivers Connecticut, LLC is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year! There is always a familiar voice on the other end of the phone when you call with a question or concern.
Does your office have a supervisor "on call" after hours?
YES, we have a trained supervisor and Registered Nurse on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays and afterhours. After hours phone # 860-796-2164.
What are my payment options?
We accept private payments by check or credit card.., we can help you determine eligibility for the Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders (CHCPE), a state and federally funded program administered by the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) through various regional Connecticut non-profit agencies. In addition, we can also help you with Long Term Care (LTC) insurance which often covers our services.
How often do you bill for your services?
We bill weekly. All invoices are itemized with date and time of service to ensure that you are only paying for the home care services you have already received.
Are your services available for the elderly in hospitals, nursing homes and or assisted living facilities?
YES, we can enter a facility and offer complementary services as well. We assist many individuals and couples through their rehabilitation in conjunction with the facilities staff.
What are your service areas in Connecticut?
In Connecticut, CareGivers CT, LLC provides homemaker companion services by the hour throughout Hartford, Middlesex, New London, Tolland, and Windham Counties. We provide our Live- In services throughout the entire state of Connecticut.
What type of information is available to the client and his or her family regarding the care they are receiving?
All of our care givers are required to follow a nurse's care plan and must formally record their daily activities; a copy of the record is always left with the client. Your aide will record dates and times of service as well as a description of all services provided. This information is confidential and can only be viewed by the client and or client’s family.
